Long-term B2B development

Looking for a development partner for your technical product?

Synesta develops applications and services that connect physical devices, communications, the edge or embedded layer, backend or cloud services and the user interface.

This is not merely web development. The aim is a working software product for industrial, measurement, control and automation equipment. It may include process automation and purposeful use of AI in the cloud or directly in local infrastructure.

One product, multiple layers

Development from the application to device communication

A technical product rarely ends with a single application. Its individual parts must share data, respect device operating states and form a maintainable whole.

Applications and frontend

User interfaces for operators, technicians and administrators. Web and cross-platform applications designed around the way the product is actually used.

Backend and cloud services

APIs, authentication, data processing, remote administration and the services required for reliable operation and continued product development.

Communication and integration

Implementation of proprietary protocols, analysis of existing communication and integration of systems that were not originally designed to communicate.

Edge, embedded and PLC

Local computing and control using suitable edge devices, embedded systems or commercially available PLCs.

Data and product logic

Processing measured data, calculations, condition evaluation, result visualisation and integration with other business systems.

Operations and long-term development

Production monitoring, ongoing improvements, operational support and product development across successive stages.

Automation and AI

From process control to local inference

We design automation and AI as part of a specific product and its operation, based on measurable value, available data and technical constraints.

Control flow

Automation and coordinated control

We turn operating procedures into software, connect devices and systems, and coordinate their behaviour based on states, measurements, rules or schedules.

  • Control and decision logic
  • PLC and edge automation
  • Responses to operating states
  • Workflow integration
Local inference

AI, local inference and agentic systems

A model can run in the cloud, in the customer’s infrastructure or on a suitable edge device. Local inference is useful when sensitive data should remain under the customer’s control or low latency is required.

  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Inference in a local environment
  • Models for defined tasks
  • Agentic systems and tools
System integration

When devices were not designed to communicate

Integration can mean enabling communication between two independent systems, unifying their data and controlling them together — even when neither manufacturer supports direct communication between them.

Depending on the project, commercially available PLCs or edge devices can be used. We do not offer standalone electronics design, but we can consult on hardware development and its software integration is a natural part of the solution.

Smart fireplace and stove control as a connected product

The production system connects control devices, sensors, control logic, proprietary communication, backend services, the user application, remote administration and OTA updates.

Synesta operates and monitors the system and provides ongoing development. TimNet has been used in production for several years.

Recognoil for TechTest

Recognoil: a cloud application for industrial diagnostic devices

Recognoil’s new frontend and backend serve specialised industrial oil detectors and are closely integrated with TechTest hardware. The result is a cloud service for working with measured data and managing devices.

The project includes implementing a proprietary protocol, identifying and addressing its weaknesses, performing complex calculations on acquired data, interpreting it as a 2D map and testing results against defined conditions.

Long-term partnership

From understanding the device to production operations

We can build on an existing product or create a new solution. The scope is divided into concrete stages that can be verified as the work progresses.

  1. Discovery

    Technical discovery

We understand the device, its users, the current solution, the data and the communication model.

  2. Design

    Architecture and priorities

We define system layers, interfaces, responsibilities and the specific scope of the first stage.
